Nutrition and diet play a fundamental role in maintaining well-being from conception to old age. Graduates of the Nutritional Science program possess a solid foundation of nutrition principles built on basic and applied sciences that they can use directly to promote health and prevent disease.

Nutrition and Metabolism is recognized as a Research Area of Excellence by the University of Alberta.
