Value Chain Management Workshops 2010

Welcome to Value Chain Management
Workshop Overview
A value chain is a learning partnership formed between farmers, input suppliers, processors, distributors and food service operators or retailers to strengthen their competitiveness through providing the ability to adapt to a changing industry better than if operating as individuals. In short, it is about people working closer and smarter together to increase their profitability through capturing greater premiums and/ or reduce costs.
For the past three years over a 1,000 participants across Canada have benefited by attending a Value Chain Management workshop, where first-hand knowledge of how producers just like yourself are adopting the value chain strategy in their business and improving business practices as well as long-term profitability. The purpose of this workshop is to assist participants in identifying opportunities to improve the competitiveness of their business.
One of the best ways to learn about value chains is to speak with those who have made them work. As part of this years’ workshop, our workshop leader will chair a panel discussion of a Canadian grower, CEO and retailer who have profited by working closely with others in a value chain structure. They will candidly share what they did, how it worked out and lessons learned along the way.
This one-day workshop is your ticket to understanding and participating in value-adding, profit-adding agrifood business ventures.
After attending the Value Chain Management workshop you will understand:
- The concept of value chains
- How value chains add profit and stabilize marketing
- Whey the best value chains outperform the rest
- The operational pitfalls that much be avoided
- How to integrate your product into a new or existing value chain
If there’s a value chain in your future then the Value Chain Management is a one-day workshop you won’t want to miss.
