Why a conference on excellence in agriculture?

Success in agriculture today requires more than first-class production techniques – excellence in farm management is increasingly the critical factor which separates successful farms and those struggling to survive.

Managing Globalization:Challenges and Opportunities was the fourth in a series of the acclaimed Excellence in Agriculture conferences aimed at promoting high-level farm management practices.

Like its predecessor, this conference was a forum for presenting and examining the leading edge concepts of successful farms worldwide. The Excellence conferences are also occasions to allow forward-thinking farm managers to network and build alliances for future business.

Objectives for Excellence in Agriculture 2004 were:

To discuss the implications of a global environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing and highly unpredictable for Canadian agriculture in transition.
To highlight and identify news and noteworthy areas in farm management in order to succeed in economic transformations and overcome uncertainty associated with globalization.
To stimulate contact between farmers, advisors and agribusiness at the national level.
